Having an international background, and being fluent in English as well as Danish, enables me to provide you with an international understanding that can bring light to your therapeutic process…
Have a closer experience of your authentic self
- Psychosynthesis psychotherapist Mark Colclough
Dear visitor,
Really the headline here says it all in a nutshell, but I guess I could add a little more into the mix. I was born and raised in London before moving to Denmark in the beginning of my teens. Having a bi cultural background actually allows me to have my own third culture, one that is uniquely mine.
This is not without a struggle however, as in Denmark I have no reference point to my childhood memories, and conversely in England I have no reference to adult memories that took place in Denmark. Forever between nations, so to speak, I am never really sure which part of my heritage is the “Dane” in me, or the “Brit” in me.
Having a third culture background can provide opportunites to experience Denmark “out of the box” so to speak, but can also provide challenges in maintaining relations, expectiations and bridging the cultural gap.
I hope that my personal background, as well as solid English psychotherapeutic training, will provide you with an understanding and “lived experience” of a bicultural background in the therapy room.
Naturally, should you request your therapy in English or Danish, I can meet your needs.
Feel free to use the contact bar on the top right of this page with any questions you may have.
All the best,
Mark
